AGM held on 24th October 2024
We held a very successful AGM event at the Kauri Sports and Community Centre on Thursday 24th October. It was attended by over 100 people and seven local community groups also promoted their activities.
The AGM was a short 30 minutes during which we heard a summary of the 2024 Annual Report by the President and a presentation from the Treasurer on the 2023/24 Financial Reports. These reports were formally approved by the members, in addition to the Minutes of the 2023 AGM.
The attendees then heard from the following four speakers on the theme Earth, Water, Fire and Air.
- Professor Pat James on the globally significant geology in our area.
- Chloe Roberts on the movements of the Eagle Rays which regularly visit Seacliff beach entertaining beachgoers.
- Professor Fay Johnson on the health risks of poorly operated wood heaters.
- John Cobb on why it is so important that we observe the beach rules when the endangered hood plovers are nesting.
The event was livestreamed on our Facebook page and can be viewed here.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the event and enjoyable and successful night.
